The Gyrokinesis Method (originally called "Yoga for Dancers") is one of the favourite body conditioning methods of many dancers and other athletes, although it can be practiced by people of all ages and levels of ability.
The Gyrokinesis Method helps to rebalance the body, build strength, build more functional movement, and decompress joints to allow the body to move more freely. The Gyrokinesis Method uses oppositional movements that expand and lengthen outward, and retract inward from the centre of the body. Each class has portions sitting on a chair and portions on a mat on the floor.
The Gyrokinesis method is practiced in group or private classes under the instruction of a certified Gyrokinesis Trainer.
